Unconditional Love; A dog's story

Location

All I wanna do is play,

But I'm watching the days pass away,

And although you don't give me toys to chew,

Master I will always love you,

You walk in the door and I'm happy,

I lick your hand but you slap me,

I was just trying to show my affection,

I know I'm nowhere near perfection,

I need to go out so I paw at the door,

And when you ignored me I peed on the floor,

You shove me in a dark, cold cage,

After beating me again in all your rage,

I sit in that cage for three whole days,

When you finally let me out in a haze,

Now it's a little hard for me to walk,

So I sit and listen to you and your friend talk,

I guess you didn't see me on your way to get more beer,

You hit me so hard now that I finally start to tear,

I'm sorry I embarrassed you in front of your friend,

Please don't twist my arm it's not supposed to bend,

I don't understand why you're being so harsh,

You take me in the woods and throw me in a marsh,

I'm thinking don't go,

Then you deliver the last blow,

And my bones start to crack,

As I groan and you laugh,

But no matter what you ever do,

You are my master and I will always love you.
