I see the sky, so dark and filled with ash,

And wonder if the apathy of man,

Can master our technologies so brash,

Which threaten to demolish nature's plan.

For there exists no surer path to death

Than one with foolish stubborness and greed.

If we desire to savor our last breath,

We must from nature's processes recede.

And yet here lies a deeper problem still,

A fundamental shift in our belief;

For man must learn to think with prudent will

And not forsake Prometheus to grief.

Our arrogance must not be our demise,

Nor mere myopia our shield devised.
