An Unachieved Life

Fri, 07/01/2016 - 06:28 -- nalonii

I wish to live a life of great success and bright fame.

Being the center of attention would be how I get my way.

If I were to live a life so great I would feel the least shame.

Oh how I wish I had lived a life like this in my day.

I wish to be laced with pearls like Elizabeth Taylor

Maybe even diamonds to put a sparkle in my eye.

The last thing I will be known as is a failure.

Oh how I wish my words were not a lie.

I wish there was a time where I had more aspiration.

But it is obvious, that dream is far beyond my reach.

This simple life of mine doesn’t compare to my fascination.

Oh how I wish my life was more than a figure of speech.

I wish there had been more time where I had tried

Instead of wasting time on wishing for a better life.

How dare I be surprised to find my dreams have died.

Oh how I wish that I’m blessed with a great afterlife.
