From the age of six, I've been asked what I'll be.

A doctor. A princess. A captain of the sea.

All of the above are applaudable choices.

Though, none involve the usage of voices.

The voice is a gift that can be used day after day,

And with my voice, this is what I have to say.

I know it's crazy, but the thought makes me beem.

To be an entertainer is the ultimate dream.

Actors and actresses, sure, what amazing careers!

Comedians, too, are used to the cheers.

But for me, none of these will do.

Singing composes my soul, woven through and through.

The rush of the staglight cues my moment to shine.

The roar of the crowd sends chills through my spine.

Not every piece will be easy, and the road will be rough.

Yet, I'm determined to make it, no matter how tough.

The boo's from the critics will be my motivation.

The ridicule from enemies, overshadowed by the applause of a nation.

However, what matters most are people, you see.

The ability to connect with others is what is most important to me.

A person's a person, and we all have a story.

Our pains, our joys, our downfalls, our glories.

Through the gift of lyrics and melodies of each and every song,

I will be able to pass my own tales along.

The journey won't be over, for my dreams won't relent.

Let it be known, I will always give 110% percent.
