Ugly Truths

These animals cry and weep.

They feel distraught and weak.

The people pass by without a care.

They are just animals living on the street.

Besides we humans are above them. Right?

Humans without humanity.

Oh the irony of such a thing, it makes everything seem bleak.

Animals pay the price.

Their lives are brief and concise.

Death stalks them and takes its claim.

Muting the light of a burning flame.

Scientist cry out that it’s all for the greater good!

Could science really be misunderstood.

They live in cramped spaces with no glimpse of sunlight.

Stuck in small areas that we call zoos.

Their life purpose is only in serving human delight.

Giving it a sparkling name doesn’t hide nor excuse.

This is really kidnapping and abuse.

So we eat our food without a care.

Just enjoying the moment of our food love affair.

The industry has it’s status quo.

The suffering and abuse started long ago.

Cattle are trampled and destroyed for one hamburger.

They’re only animals they can’t even feel?

The voiceless cry out to be heard.

The sightless cry out to be seen.

The disable cry out to be normal.

While animals cry out only to be loved.
