Two Hilltops and Destiny

The Hilltop's bottom begins
shuffle, shuffle
Quickly acknowledge the surroundings with a quiet glance
The ease of relaxation fills his shoulders
No weight was lifted but time was bought
Peak

She descends into the Oak Shadows
crunch, crunch
Rays of light tickle her nose, elbows, and
Toes stride across the pavement striking acorns
The personal foot massage ends as it had months before
Light

Second hill for the Journey
waddle, waddle
Chestnuts tumble off the ledge into a watery home
They float across only to meet their hero
Their savior from the roaring red machines
Quack

Cloudy Horizons ahead
skip, skip
No one notices the schoolboy as he ascends
No one ever notices the confusion and worry
Everyone will see the pride and determination
Someday

Twelve Graffiti Stairs
trudge, trudge
Hometown Picasso clutches the railing made for sliding
The copper knocker calls his name while his Destiny awaits
Destiny makes bittersweet coffee for a journey of one thousand paces
Home.
