Trying Not to Settle

The refreshing change of the seasons

fills me with an immense need

  for being at peace.

For instance,

when this cool tree sap Fall morphs into

a wet smokestacky Winter,

I'll want nothing more than to

read next to open bedroom windows while rain pours down.

There's an opportunity to find the new rhythm,

the new beat to set the tone for my days,

every so often.
