try again

miss after miss those days you just can't hit
you're not good enough you might as well quit
lacking patience, losing all determination
trying to make it to college a first generation
with all odds stacked against leaning towards them
underdogs believing they have the chance to win
to come out on top is with a all dream
but with some it's not always what it may seem
is their life the moment they live for
unsure if it's all worth the pain anymore
fighting for something that seems so unreal
everything off the court becoming harder to conceal
especially on game days looking in the stands
realizing you're the only one with no fans
and the people on your team just want to see you fail
so compressed with emotions unable to inhale
why I keep picking up the ball I'll never understand
its just this little voice inside always telling me to try again
