The Truth Within Me

I celebrate myself,
For not letting the world’s view trample upon my character,
and beliefs.
Fierce, strong, and honest I am,
And what I assume you will assume.

As I sit alone in the midst of the darkened night,
The never-ending stars gleam with different colors of:
blue, red, orange, and white
In these stars, I see the people of the world,
For every mankind has a destiny
Awaiting for its chance to shine

I have seeked the true meaning of happiness
And what pleasures come with it
But have realized that happiness lies within me,
within us..
CARS, MONEY, GOLD!
Of what value are they, then to just temporarily fill our hearts with joy.
Love, joy, and peace is what I want
And I’ll shall be forever happy

Faith in God has kept me going throughout the ups and downs in my life
There were days where the sweet words of temptation,
Urged me into wrongful doing.
But I refused to let the unsettling minds of the world
Lead me to destruction.

At rest,
I lie upon my bed and picture who am I
what am I, and who I am to become

After all is said
I am she that celebrates myself for being so
I am she that truth lies within
I am she…
Forevermore.
