True Love Starts With You

He asked me “Do you love me”

I answered without hesitation

Yes, you know I would do anything

And it shows I love you

Are you sure? He repeats over again and again

I ensured with a quick Yes and smiled towards him

Ok, Send me pictures of your beautiful body

So I can admire your curves and booty

Also, give me all your passwords and forget your friends

I froze in shock and questioned my existence in his mind

I was a thing, not his girl, not even a human with feelings

As I stared at the clock, I debated if my love was enough or not

He waved at my face and I was finally caught

Caught to return the true meaning of the four letter word “L-O-V-E”

Reality was here and I could no longer live in this fantasy where everything was perfect

I stood up and gradually bursted “You never loved me”

This four letter word was just magic words to use me

Preventing me to experience true love

That love where one sacrifices,cares,adores,respects,

Understands, communicates, but most of all, acceptance of one’s flaws

Thoughts ran in my mind and I, too ran

From him, my past, and longing for someone to love me

Came home and looked at myself

Said “Jess, love is right in front of you

When you start to love yourself,

Someone will come and love you right and fight

For love that you deserve

He will say “I love you because you are you”
