Tribute

I want to reach out and touch the horizon

Want to hold it so tight that it never escapes

The way it makes me feel

Warm and joyful

Lovely and loved

That bright spark that will keep me young forever

Can I have the horizon?

Even if just for a day.

My life has been so lonely

Without you here to stay

I want to reach the horizon

To keep its warmth and life by my side

Is it crazy to dream that if I hold these things close

That you will somehow return to my life?

I know it's crazy, I'm too practical to think otherwise

Someday I'd better see you again

I hope and dream you've made you way

To a blissful place where you'll never again feel pain

You were, and will forever be, the light of my life

I'll miss you forever, but I know you won't want me to mourn for all eternity

For you I'll live to my fullest potential

I hope you are dancing beneath a waterfall's spray

Singing happily that you always want to stay

You're forever in my heart

I've missed you from the start

But for you we'll move on

We'll learn how to grow strong

I love you, I miss you

I swear I'll never forget you

The way your eyes would sparkle

The way your voice would shimmer

Such a precious jewel

One gone too quickly, taken too soon

You were marvelous and wonderful

My dear you still are

You'll live on in my heart forever

And I promise you that your life won't be forgotten

Goodbye so soon, much too soon

But life won't end with goodbye

Your writing lives on, and in it, your voice

The voice of your freedom

Your strong-willed life

I'll miss you so dearly

But for now, let this tribute be a start

To the words I've kept inside of me

The breaking of my heart
