Trenchant

I questioned, I caved

analogous to a rolling wave

a feeling, a truth with icentive to hold

breaks at the shore, flummoxing, as nothing foretold

inequitable, say I,

at the mercy of my mind

for peace had been presented

and the stars I saw,

aligned

a commendation to color,

a smile with raptous love

nature gripped our hearts

and nothing did it deny us of

but day still turns to eve

without mention, turning dark

love confounds and fleets just as callously

with a caustic remark
