Trapped In a Cocoon of Lies

Imagine you’re in a garden,

A garden full of butterflies and moths.

You would feel like the butterflies appeal to you more,

You lie down in the area with the most butterflies,

Admiring their beautiful patterns and shapes,

Not paying attention to the moths at all.

This is when you spend so much time with your butterfly friends,

You forget all about the moths.

Sometimes you get captivated by the beauty of one specific butterfly,

Ignoring all the other butterflies completely and only focusing on that one.

The butterfly guides you around,

And you follow,

Walking to who knows where,

All you can think about is how magnificent that butterfly is.

Moths and other butterflies might start to attack that butterfly,

You flick all of them away to protect your ‘beauty’

Have you ever heard about the phrase,

That you aren’t aware of your own situation because of the butterfly,

And you simply just follow the butterfly.

Not aware of what is happening.

Remember the earlier statement,

The other butterflies and moths try to attack the butterfly?

They were all trying to protect you,

Now the butterfly has left,

Leaving you alone.

Now you finally realise,

That you are lost,

And you are nowhere,

You finally realise the dangerous situation,

You’re not in the garden anymore,

You are somewhere else. . .

You cry for help,

You hope that your butterfly would come back,

It doesn’t.

You mindlessly try screaming for help,

But you don’t get any.

And that’s just reality,

You’re just stuck,

After the butterfly moves on.

 . . .
