Transgender Day Of Remembrance

Today won’t you hold him tight
Tell him he is not alone
Tell him he is man enough, he is handsome, he is strong

Today won’t you hold her tight
Tell her you see her
Tell her you will stand with her, for she is beautiful

Today won’t you hold them tight
Tell them you respect them
Tell them you will fight with them, for they are a gorgeous soul

Remember the names
Of the 3314 lost since 2008
May they never be list to silence

Hold in your heart the souls whose names we don’t know
Who were not out
Who’s identities not recognized
Those we lost too soon

As we remember these souls
May we continue to fight for those who are with us
Until the number of those lost is zero we will not stop fighting

Tonight won’t you light a candle for those we have lost
As you ignite a flame in your heart to fight like hell for the living
