Traffic Light

He can’t decide

I don’t know why

I guess it’s my fault I caught his eye

I shouldn’t have flirted

Couldn’t help myself

Look where it got us… we need more than help

My heart belongs to another

But he’s the distraction I need

If it weren’t for his status, he’d be the perfect fling

He gives me the green light

I’m ready to go

One minute he’s here and the next I know

That the light switched to red

We can only be friends

Till his light turns green again

After I wrote this piece I realized that you can't wait for someone who is in a relationship or even on someone who just can't make up their mind. No matter what reasoning and excuses you create for that person, in the end, it is still the same situation to be in. So do yourself a favor and get yourself out while you can before you fall into that deep emotional hole.

Thank you so much!

I really like the power vs. loss of power in the poem, great contrast!
