toyota corolla

The boy who I will fall madly in love with will drive a beater Toyota corolla

He will

He will treat that car as if it were a temple

He will be good to that car

And he won’t try to make it a car that it isn’t

He will just let it be

Unless it needs a little fixing

But he won’t change it-

He can’t change it

And he knows he shouldn’t try

He will treat that car so well

Until it isn’t enough

And his mind begins to wander of faster cleaner more attractive cars

And eventually

Although it hurts

He will let his Toyota corolla go

As he should

And the car will be sold in bits and pieces to be put in places it does not belong

And with only half a life

And half a heart

It will continue to love the boy

As I do
