Tough Love

Why forget about the past,

When it makes us who we are now?

Why forgive someone

When they have broken you like a vow.

Made you feel as if

You are meaningless.

A piece of trash.

Worth nothing more than

Your mother

A woman who couldn’t keep her kids,

Who left them,

Alone and forgotten.

Until she wanted to acknowledge them,

Love them, care for them.

Only having them to trap men.

To Get them to stay so maybe

They will love her.

Her children were never more than

A trap, a burden, a bastard.

Only being loved by some,

But never their own mother.

So why should we love ourselves?

Why love who we are?

When we are nothing more than

A woman's dream to

Feel love, to be loved.

Scarring us with her tough love.
