Time

1:00.

I open my eyes.

I just can’t stop thinking

So many things running

Through my head

That won’t stop.

I close them.

1:47.

I open my eyes.

Why can’t you just leave me

Get out of my head

I close them.

2:13.

I open my eyes.

Warmth flows through me

As I remember your hands

That kept me warm in the cold weather.

I close them.

3:24

I open my eyes.

I’m cold again.

You keep pulling away

Drawing the warmth out of me.

I close them.

3:57

I open my eyes.

I’ve given up

I’ll just let it spread.

The darkness succumbs me.

I close them.

5:30

I open my eyes.

I don’t want to move.

To have to get ready and

See you again is torture.

I close them.

6:46

I open my eyes.

You’re walking down the bus

Aisle. My heart is racing again.

No, I won’t talk.

I close them.
