To Time

I want time

 To forget me

So I can fully bask

In this moment.

Breathe in the air

So thick with rain and moisture

And hear the far off voices

And pens against paper

Drowned out by downpour

Dancing down gutters.

I can almost hear them

The music, the drums

That beat on like battle

And the voices

Calling to let this moment

Never end

As we all dance in this

Glorious rain

To wash away stains

Of the past.

I want time to forget me.

So I can grasp

These final moments

Of never letting go.
