Her garments gray, torn, and frayed

never noticing time pass,

or if it was night or day or how long would she last!

Sitting in her stench of what she has done,

the world she once knew is gone and forgotten.

Hair hanging down covering her sunken brown eyes,

that once upon a time, both did occupy.

The man who loved her with kisses filled with tomorrows promises,

as time went on, little did she know he was filled with darkness!

Never letting go of her hand or out of his sight,

at first, she thought nothing, but slowly filling with fright!

Attempts to leave only made him more possessive.

it finally dawned on her she was being held captive!

In a room, he put her in with only one way out,

screaming at the top of her lungs, crying tears of doubt.

Of ever being free from the monster on the other side of the door,

finally giving up, she couldn't take it anymore.

She stopped asking if her friends had asked or came by,

all the answers hhe gave her were nothing but lies!

She didn't know what day it was or even what year,

her mind slowly deteriorating; it was clear.

She began to feel weak, her heart now slowly beating,

no longer beautiful, she began dying.

He stopped checking on her; the whole house now quiet;

noone noticed the house on the corner had become desolate.

Then one day, the door swung open, the room filled with decay,

unable to comprehend the tragedy and why she was left this way?

Covering their mouth, slowly approaching her small decomposed body,

her body reminiscent of her life it was sitting oh so very sadly!

All because she believed a man could love her with all his heart and soul,

she died alone and afraid in a room empty, dark, and cold!
