Through the Eyes of a Child

I write this poem as my third grade self would,

I would go back, if only I could.

Because in the eyes of a child,
Everything is so wild,
There are no leaves to be piled,
There are no papers to be filed.

In a child's eyes the world is beautiful,
The trees are fruitful,
The world is hopeful,
And even a dollar is useful.

For in the eyes of a child,
Everything is awesome,
Like flowers just beginning to blossom.

As we grow older,
We often grow colder.

As we grow in age,
All that seems to matter is our wage.

We forget about the little things,
We forget the joy life brings.

But in a child's eyes,
Life is full of highs,
Days filled with blue skies,
And fresh apple pies.

I write this as a child would,
Because in their eyes, there is only good.

But in a child's eyes there is a reality,
They approach life with the right mentality,
They do not recognize their mortality.

In their eyes there is reality,
Because everything truly is awesome.

As positivity spreads,
Like forum threads.

We recognize that everything is awesome

Life is great,
I learned this when I was eight.

Life is a treat,
There are foods to eat,
People to greet.

Wether you are just an adolescent,
Or a fully grown parent.

Just don't forget, that everything is awesome .
