A Thought in Transition

Location

I want to feel

A pounding on the ground

A minuscule sound of drums to my heart

I want to feel

What everyone else feels when they smile or frown

I want to be loved

And held

And adored

I want to feel a wonder so deep

A joy so steep

To fall into an abyss of reds and pinks

My dream is to be over moon

Under the stars

By the sun

Surronded by cars

I feel like someone who wants to be in love

But I find I can't let go

My mind wants a home

A home we can't find

Together we work but we can't talk

We can't let go

The past is important

That's what we all know

Those history book and why it snows

The present is a gift

To be cared for and loved

But tell me why the future stops my breath

If I know which to live in

Then maybe I'd know how to live

Or maybe I'm confused

And answers won't

Or maybe I am not looking hard enough

Whatever the cause

However the view

Last night it snowed

Today it's cold

But tomorrow I don't know

My love might come
