Though Be It Dark

Oh, dear God,
Please give me grace.
The through eyes of love
I view each face.

The face of evil,
The face of hate,
This be my prayer,
Though pray I late

Though the evils
In this world abound
And dance about me
All around,

I pray for grace,
One drop of Yours,
That my bitterness not
Close Thine open doors.

I wish it wasn't,
But it is.
The hate we neighbor
Is a quiz.

I pray for charity,
Lest I fall.
Lest I forget
Love conquors all.
