They meant everything to me

Say farewell to my relatives

They shaped my being

Sheltered my innocence,

Then shattered my youth

And burned my garden of eden

They were my everything

Sayonara to my mates

Offer them every earthly pleasures

Born from them was hubris

Shrouded by their purity,

Plots of wicked design broke through

They were my everything

Say goodbye to my old love

Treat her to the world

She was once my moon and stars

The beating in my chest,

The cracks in my heart

She was my everything

So long to my soul

Perhaps it will see better days

Maybe it will feel the warmth of affection,

Alas lifeless it lies motionless

Merely ashes of a fire now snuffed

 It felt my everything

Give praise to my new life

She breathes onto me a new hope

And instills new meaning within me

Give thanks to my new family

The ones who share my blood

And the ones who bled with me

They mean everything to me

This poem is about:
Me
My family

Hello readers! My name is Ethan Solis and I am a first year college student and I just recently picked up poetry as a form of self expression. I let a few of my mates read it and they were "blown away" by it, now I have no clue whether they actually mean it but I'll let you all be the judge of that, please feel free to reach out and let me know if it is worth the praise. Thank you all!
