There's Not An App For That

Nowadays
99 cents is all it costs
To order a pizza or watch the next episode of Lost
But tell me,
What does it cost to keep a heart beating?
Nowadays
You can say "I love you" over a text
Or rant to a stranger about your ex
But tell me,
How does it feel to say those things in person?
Because there's not an app for genuine human connection
No, there's no app to communicate our emotions
There's no app to simulate crying on a shoulder
Or fighting til the night gets colder
Or laughing because your friend is laughing
No, there's no app for the things that make us human.

Yet when you spend your whole life trapped behind and touching a blinding piece of glass, you'll probably forget what being human even feels like.
