A Thankful Something

I’m thankful for the friends I have,

the hugs and all the laughs.

I’m thankful for my working legs,

that let me run my laps.

I’m thankful for the roof that sits

so strong above my head.

I’m thankful that on my plate

there’s always more than bread.

I’m thankful for the clothes I wear;

the shoes upon my feet.

I’m thankful that I can believe

a devil I won’t meet.

I’m thankful for a nice warm bed,

a place where I can rest.

I’m thankful for a special mom,

who should know that she’s the best.

I’m thankful for the strangers,

who show me wrong from right.

I’m thankful for the people I meet,

that make my smile bright.

But then I see some people

who don’t know why I’m so glad.

So I share a little happiness

and some thanks that I have had.
