To let someone know

How does one express gratitude

With enough sincerity

To let someone know

They made the outcasts feel at home?

A thank you card can only hold

So many words,

A phone call

So many emotions.

Saying ‘thank you’ is tricky

Because words have limited meaning,

But the list of alternatives

Is sadly short and mediocre.
