Terrence

What do you say to someone who has been there?
Through your ugliest times, and transitions through life.
Giving hugs when you need them, and kisses where it hurts.
These are the things I could never lose from you.

I see your imperfections, but I find them so cute.
I see you’re not a God, but that just can’t be true.
You’re there when I need you without any delay.
No one else can see right through me,
But see me just the same.

I am never lonely as long as you are there.
Though I’m sure it may not be easy,
Hearing me yell and swear.

I’ve always made it through.
Knowing I have you.
The cutest little sock monkey,
I could ever choose.
