Temptation

Temptation

That moves sensations

And offers a temporary gratification

An offer many have taken

Scriptures read the prayers that lead

“Lead us not into

Temptation

But deliver us from evil”

For we know not what we do

We know nothing

Until we know the man in the cross

He who was tempted

Like me and you

He who came down in fleshly form

Who was beaten, hatred, pursed by Satan

To show that we are greater than any nation

He took the blame and the nail

Hung his head on the hill

Even then he cried out still

For my forgiveness, for I was tempted

To hang a Savior who was wrongly convicted

No, not again will I fall to Temptation

Now I know a love and power

That can overcome any situation
