Teary Eyes, Locked

Mon, 06/13/2016 - 22:57 -- zari.

Locked eyes,
Though you weren't staring back at me.
Like I was staring into the forest with no ending, I could get lost in you.
The eyes that looked away from me was most powerful,
Because I wondered if it was only you not noticing me or because looking at me was painful.
You hated looking at me when I cried.
Teary eyed,
I thought if I lied about the tears falling down my face, they would disappear; evaporate like I never even cried lost tears.
I looked at you with my wet eyes, forgetting why your heart hurts when I  lie to my own face, especially yours...
Your eyes locked with mine,
You looked away,
Not knowing exactly what to say, so you said you had to go and drove away.
You couldn't look at me,
But I locked eyes,
Wanted you to see my hurt, but instead to saw my little white lie,
So no kisses goodbye or see you later,
My lie was only met to make me feel at least a tiny bit better, but yet, I feel worse,
The eyes that looked away from me was most powerful.
Locked eyes,
But now locking eyes was harder because of lies and teary eyes.
