Tears of A Clown

Silent breakdowns

So unexpected by all.

The clown is always expected to stand,

But never allowed to fall.

No one listens

When tears roll by

Smiling on the outside

Inside wanting to die

Laughs and jokes

To hide the pain felt each day.

Always putting on faces

Knowing exactly what to say.

When someone depends on you,

Weaknesses are forgotten.

Pretending to be fun,

When really you feel rotten.

The tears of a clown

Fall hard against my pillow case.

Wallflower, back against the wall

Yet when alone gloom you meet.

But to the clown that cries.

Just remember

Your tears are heard

By other circus members.
