Tears at Bedtime

I sit in bed
and cry again
Am I yet dead?
no, no, just in pain

I think of you
and cry some more
and all you do
pierces me to the core

I want to stop
my crying now
as another drop
i will soon allow

I long to kiss
your tender lips,
I long to love
you through and through
but alas I know I can't.
I’m not good enough
to ever stop the pain.
and so we rave and rant
and huff and puff
till we only remain

then at last i see the light
the truth is now so clear
it’s the pain in love
the bitter-sweet
that makes our lives complete
