Teachings of Hillel

If I am not for myself, than who is for me?
Pieces of my being, my soul, my life, scattered across the floor of my apartment
Do I collect them? Do I deserve to collect them?

To rearrangement myself, but myself back together as though I have fallen off a wall
But for what purpose? To hand out pieces of myself again, like gaming tokens.
No.
I must be for myself, protect myself, save myself
My honor, my integrity, my being, my soul

If no one is for me, than who am I?
Do I exist if I do not believe in myself? If I do not inspire myself?
What does this freckled, sallow, exhausted flesh become? This body becomes nothing: it just exists.

But this mind inside of this flesh ceases to just exist, this spirit working in harmony with this mind wants to

Break Free.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the marriage of this body to this spirit.
Together they aspire to greatness as they become one
I aspire to greatness as I marry my body to my mind and as I become one
I promise to always choose my path wisely, to never disregard you, you are my reason for living.
I promise to always encourage, inspire, and protect you from harms way
You deserve everything I can possible give you and more and I will never forget that.
Body and Soul, you have become one.

If I am not for myself, than who is for me? If no one is for me, than who am I?
