Tar and Feathers

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you

I’ll never show it, but I’m afraid.

Afraid of losing before I can finish building it,

Afraid of bruising; so numb I ain’t feeling it.

spoil land before I finish tilling it.

Getting billed before I can get paid.

I’ll never show it, but I’m afraid.

Afraid  I’m gone before I get to where I’m going;

afraid there is no process for progress made.

I’ll never show it, but I’m afraid.

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you.

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you

They say you Too skinny; They say you too dark,

genius and demons are lost in the night; can’t tell them apart

On this journey; I Been ready to embark,

Yet still I’m afraid that  I’ll miss my mark.

 Still you Too skinny; Still you too dark

 from end to end, Seamless; with nowhere to start.

 Still you Too skinny; Still you too dark

Genius and demons are lost in the night;

can’t tell them apart.

All in my nightmares they haunt they taunt with threats to harm me; history has warned me of what hate can do:

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you

Tar Baby we don’t need no glue

Tar Baby feathers stick to you
