Talent, purpose and will

James 4:17     New English Translation

17 So whoever knows what is good to do and does not do it is guilty of sin.

The core of our existence is interwoven in our will

The use or not to use is in the hand of the receiver

One needs to find a place where talents will be used

God does not provide these to provide rest for a deceiver

Sins of omission and sins of dis-use to let talent sink into inertia

What a sad affair this is to take for granted what God provided

Passivity will rise and grow in the non-use of all these gifts

As we give occasion to the devil if our will stays in hiding

Passivity is a self-justified wonder. It calls for peace where there is none

Just because the will lays dead and still does not mean that all is calm

A cessation of the active exercise of the will over body, soul, or spirit

It will bring an imbalance to your life, and you feel like you’re embalmed

Loss of self-control will follow as the person takes the reign

Exercising his own will and wishes as a guiding principle

Trying to bring harmony through a now personal control

Self with the will of God, and that is surely now impossible

Exercising your “own” will is not working at all

It is a way of life that makes you lose your free will

Here again, that harmony that is guided by God’s will

Is quickly lost within oneself so that won’t fit the bill
