If the moon doesn't

Come out tonight

And if the stars don't glow

I'll know that you don't

Love me anymore

If kisses that I blow tonight

Get tangled up in the trees

And never land on your lips

I'll know you've set me free

If an early frost

Settles over the landscape

I won't hesitate

To whisper your name and

"Goodbye"

In the same sentence

I'll know you're gone for good

If the fireflies don't dance

Their spectacular show

Across the meadow where

We love to make love

I'll know you're tired of

Lighting up my life

If you are'nt in my dreams tonight

I'll know you're moving out

If I wake up in the morning and

Can't smell the fresh-brewed coffee

And the warmth of where you slept

Next to me in our bed

I'll know you've already gone

Without even saying goodbye and

Watching my heart crumble

To pieces before your eyes

As I weep and beg you to stay

Just long enough to hurt me

Another day

We both know I love you

Enough to give you all the days

You wish to take
