A Tail of Red Feathers

Location

To match her skirt of scarlet red
Below a long, grey coat,
The crown of feathers on her head
Above a soft, pink throat.

Below a long, grey coat
She perches on my broad shoulder.
Above a soft, pink throat
She sings a tune when I hold her.

She perches on my broad shoulder,
Asking me to tickle.
She sings a tune when I hold her,
An attractive whistle.

Asking me to tickle
The crown of feathers on her head.
An attractive whistle
To match her skirt of scarlet red.

This is a pantoum about Keira the African Grey parrot. She is my lifetime companion animal that I treat like a daughter. If you have ever been close to a pet, then you understand the love they can give. We are always learning new things together and I cannot wait to grow closer as we age.

Thank you for reading.
