Tabula Rasa

Location

There are several-thousand- maybe even several-million ways that one can edit a photo,

But each photo is conceived in the same manner.

The red button in the lower center of the device is pressed.

A faux-shutter sound is emmited,

And thus, the selfie is created.

Each image before editing, however, is the same.

Eyes.

Nose.

Mouth.

Ears.

Smile.

Every photo begins with the same template.

But somewhere along the way, effects came into existence:

Color correction.

Exposure.

Superimpsing.

Distortion.

Filters.

These effects allow us to evolve our image.

Without filters, we are merely templates;

A blank slate.
