Symmetry
I made a decision
To follow my intuition
Without interference
From fears little demons
This voyage I must take
To relieve all these aches
That make me forget
All that’s at stake
I will make it back to a land
Where I’m free to be
All that I can see
Remembering all that was taken from my ancestors
Was taken from me
Symmetry
The stars bind our missions
When bars blind our visions
We defend our territory
From their incisions
Courage surges through our veins and we ascend
We remind them ‘listen!’
We glisten
We remind them hope isn’t just light
It’s where darkness isn’t
This poem is about:
Me
My family
My community
My country
Our world
