Sylvia Plath

I’m quickly coming apart strand by strand
I let him in, now we are intertwined
I can’t suppress the red demon’s demand

I’m nothing more than an abyss come and
Explore the dark precipice of my mind
Unravel the mess that I can not stand

Cold, alone, and I could not understand
You bastard, how could you leave me behind?
I can’t suppress the red demon’s demand

You tasted the fruit from another land
Pig, for seven years I was confined
Unravel the mess that I can not stand

Failure I have experienced firsthand
I tried, and tried, but, then I just resigned
I can’t suppress the red demon’s demand

I’m done, I have accepted his command
Now I am his, in soul, body, and mind
Unravel the mess that I can not stand
I can’t suppress the red demon’s demand
