Sweet Memory

Oh dear sweet memory

Lingering on my tender brow

You bring a smile upon my lips

And never let me frown.

Oh dear sweet memory

You waltz on the broken tiles

That lay upon my floor

As I try to sort them all out.

Oh dear sweet memory

Can you please stay with me?

I need something to think back to

In times of want and misery.

Oh dear sweet memory

You have given me so much

The sweetest breath from the loveliest

Rose that I may not touch.

Oh dear sweet memory

I pledge my heart to thee

But do please know that

I must move on to the sweet victory.

Oh dear sweet memory

I must keep you away in my thoughts

To move along with my life

And embrace the incoming future.

My dear sweet memory.
