The Sun and The Moon

So much depends on the sun and moon

For the sun to rise every morning,

Chasing the moon.

So much depends on the moon

To run across the night sky,

Fleeing the sun.

They’ve danced together for years,

The sun always chasing the moon,

The moon is always running from the sun.

So much depends on the sun chasing the moon

But what do the sun and the moon depend on?

What causes the sun to chase the moon,

Even though the sun will never have her?

Why does the sun love the moon enough

To chase her across the night sky,

Though he knows she won’t love him?

So much depends on the sun and moon and stars.

But what if the mooned loved the sun too?

What if the sun didn’t have to chase the moon,

And the world turned upside down,

For the sun didn’t chase the moon?

Ask me:

Who would I depend on,

When the sun doesn’t chase the moon?

Why will I wake up in the morning if the sun doesn’t rise?

My answer would be you.

The world depends on the sun and the moon,

But in our world you are my sun and moon.

When the moons loves the sun,

And the universe turns upside down,

And the sun won’t rise,

I’d wake up every morning

To spend another day with you.

So much depends on the sun.
