Summary of “The Woods” by Harlan Coben.
You would never have thought that the woods held something special about someone’s life.
We all have been in situations that caused us shock and that we might want to forget.
People are born and eventually die. The beginning is the light and path we take, though
people will take different paths. The summer is a time we visit, have fun,
think of no worries, no troubles. But what do we visit? For some it might be friends
and family, but for others it might be the unspeakable.
It was once bright and sunny, then it turned out that it wasn't funny. The flirt, the
friends, the rejected, and the angry that’s how it started. With a prank that
played out wholehearted. The blood, the screams, the lies, the schemes. They
all saw black and wasted dreams. To think a missing guard could’ve caused the
plot, but that’s where we are missing a whole lot. It mostly started as a story
to tell, but he founded out that it wasn't well. His sister, his friend, and
what happened that night. Was it the truth or wasn't it right? An old story
that came back to life, within twenty years brings back the strife. A body found
with his name inside; detectives arrive asking him to abide. The plan was to
find who was involved, to see if this case can end out solved. There’s a twist
that turns the story around, a man who was dead is back town. Rumors of lying sends
Paul’s future astray. Instead of wishing it to go away, Paul was determined to
find the truth some way. If his sister alive or dead, why his mother abandoned
him as well. But it all goes back to the past that weighs the truths and the
lies from that day. The ploy created by Wayne has Paul and Lucy going insane.
The letters, the stories so close; but far from intact, has enough of the truth
for Paul to enact. He later finds that his knowledge is defective, and to search
for the truth was more effective. The past of his father has come back to stay.
The result of that gave the answers away. His sister was living, the mother was
not. His father had killed her and dug her a spot. The reason was anger; the
outcome was hate, that causes the family to take the bait. What Wayne had started
ended like that; yet that drove everyone into combat. Brother and sister reunited
again, I guess for that the book receives a ten. If that’s how it ended; what’s
left to gain. Well how bout a girlfriend from the past to stay or maybe the
woods had taken her away.
