Submerged

Child frightened
Mother without a clue
A well known stranger
Tragetting you

Adolescent girl quiet and afraid
Studying hard to make her past go away
Focused soley on what makes her strong
But life isn't easy for long

Forced to mature by her drunken mothers hand
Caring for her siblings who did not understand
With no one to turn to she fell into despair
Quirky on the outside with a pain she couldn't bare
Using a blade as an outlet calling to anyone
Yet she was alone and nothing could be done

Teenage girl lost and confused
Searching for love repeatedly refused
Until finally someone heard her pleading cry
A cry so long forgetten the tears were all dry

Now the story changes because there's a baby in her life
Tempted by death she had to put away the knife
Creating life had given her strength
A strength that will take her to any length

Submerged by life I fell
Due to my skin color was bullied like hell
I was in the deapest depths and survived
Because of her breath I was revived
