Stuck in the past

Location

Baltimore, Maryland
United States

Why is our black skin still a topic?

We know exactly why we're the shade that we are.

I know that our skin has a history that can never be erased.

We have seen some things, bared witness to some lonely eve's.

The melanin of our skin has been a sea leading to old ports that have already settled

the truth in the bosom of our ancestors.

We know the truth, so why are we stuck in the place we were in 40 & 50 years ago?
