The Strive to Create a Life

Location

Coming home every night

to a family that is so tight

gives me a feeling deep in my belly,

even if my brother is a little smelly,

that all my hard work, boring classes, and long hours at school

should not make me feel like a fool,

instead I am proud of myself

for ensuring that I will not always need other people's help.

Knowing one day

that I will have my own family in play

and that I can continue this tradition

gives me a reason to go on a mission.

I now promise myself that I will achieve all my goals

and every step that I take toward them

will motivate me even more than anything else in the world can.
