Her broken heart
Lay on the ground
While everyone hurries by
She would cry and
Pray for inner peace
But all she got was crushed
Her parents were so busy
Fighting with each other
While she was only fighting herself
All her “friends” would
Jab and joke about
Her scarred and hopeless arms
The dreams she had
Were shattered to bits
By all those who put her down
Every word that was
Said to her
Was degrading, mean, and heartless
Her once strong soul
Is burnt to ash
And she walks the halls alone
When she gets home
Her mom is gone
And her dad is full of booze
She finds a bottle of pills
And grabs her back pack
Unzipping it to get a sheet of paper
While pulling her notebook out
A slip of paper fell
When it hit the ground she picked it up
The three little words
“You are loved”
Were written in careful lettering
With a smile and tears
She threw the pills out
And put the unsigned note in a frame
She lay in bed and cried
Thinking to herself that
Her life was saved by a hero…
A stranger who cared
