As the storm passes by

Psalm 107:29

29 He calmed the storm to a whisper
    and stilled the waves.

Included in the storms of life are dreams of the impossible

Deliverance and hope surely line every dark cloud

Peace replaced by strife in our fears for the infallible

As we grasp for straws in our hunger for great doubt

When flesh gets on a roll emotions scream uncontrollable

Feelings take us for a ride in an ever-expanding circle

Dizziness and hopelessness are becoming most notable

In self-chosen confusion as common sense becomes a riddle

In the eye of the storm peace is at its very best

If we just could stay there so to forget our yesterdays

Maybe life there’s at a standstill in this ongoing test

As we search all directions to escape from “having to pay”
