As I look out the window, I thank the weather for matching my mood.
With every rain drop that plummets to the ground comes another humiliating thought.
With every boom of thunder is every new set of tears that wash over the last.
The days run me over like a car while I stand in the middle of the street of life.
On each side of the street are the people I love yelling for me to get out of the way.
But I am numb to their screams, tears, and emotions.
I’m stuck with the glue of regret keeping me in the middle of the road.
My only savior is my drive to be ok and to make it to the next day.
And so I make it to another day of sunshine.
The storm is gone along with my thoughts.
I am mile away from that road, that feeling, that life.
Until another dark could rolls in and the rain starts again.
