To the Stars in the Sky

To the stars in the sky,

The sky is no longer full of stars

And it’s all because of me

The sky is no longer ours

And there’s nothing left to see

                I used to look up

And wish upon every light in the sky

                I used to look down

And wonder why I couldn’t fly

My wishes were met with silence

And so, I took the stars from the sky

It was supposed to be an act of defiance

But all it did was make me cry

                I’m here to give you

A sincere apology full of truth and regret

                I’m here to undo

                A mistake I’ll never forget

So, to the stars in the sky

                This for you

So, to the stars in the sky

I am sorry that you are simply blue

Sincerely,

                An Apologetic Girl
